Travel by Train
Princeton is easily accessible via NJ Transit trains or Amtrak trains. Most Amtrak trains stop in Trenton, but not Princeton Junction. From Trenton, NJ Transit trains can be taken. Alternatively, cab fare from Trenton is approximately $35. Most NJ Transit Northeast Corridor trains leaving from Penn Station in NYC or from Trenton stop at Princeton Junction. From Princeton Junction travellers can transfer to the "Dinky" train operated by NJ Transit which goes directly to campus (cost ~$2). Travel by Car
From the PHILADELPHIA AREA
Take Interstate 95 north into New Jersey and exit at Route 1 north (exit 67). Travel about three miles north on Route 1 to the Washington Road exit, which is a traffic circle. Go three quarters of the way around the circle and turn right (between the gas stations) toward Princeton. The campus is located approximately a mile straight ahead.
from the NORTH/NEW YORK CITY
Take the New Jersey Turnpike south to Exit 9 (New Brunswick). After the toll booths, take the first right turn onto the ramp for Route 18 north. Soon after you enter Route 18, take the left side of a fork in the road, staying in the right lane. Immediately bear right for an exit to U.S. Route 1 south/Trenton. Drive south on Route 1 for about 18 miles to the Washington Road exit, which is a traffic cirlcle. Take the first right off the circle (between gas stations) toward Princeton. The campus is located approximately a mile straight ahead.

- Cornell - 4 hours
- Columbia - 1.5 hours
- Brown - 3.5 to 4 hours
- Harvard - 4.5 to 5 hours
- Rutgers - 35 to 45 minutes
Travel by Air
The closest airports are Newark or Philadelphia. It is easier to get to Princeton from Newark than Philadelphia via public transit. Transportation from LaGuardia or JFK is expensive and onerous. For further information, please see: Princeton's travel by air page.
