I wasn't sure if you all preferred an update at the next meeting, or wanted the information as soon as possible. If you prefer all updates on such issues to be reported at the monthly meetings, just let me know and I will hold off on sending any future emails of such. a.. Children Living in High Rise: The main reason children are not permitted to live in the high rise is due to a lack of space per apartment. The largest apartment in the high rise is a one bedroom. NJ State Law does not permit a child to live in the parents bedroom after the first year. Housing did state that if a resident were to become pregnant during the year, the resident/family would be moved to a suitable location the following year. b.. Number of Children in Apartment Housing: According to Housing, there are 18 Children living in Lawrence, 41 Children living in Butler, and 6 Children living in Hibben-Magie. Totaling 65 children. This number is as of Sept 16th, however, keep in mind that not all residents report the number of children living in housing, especially recent births. Housing and the Grad School are working to deal with this issue. c.. Karin Court Issues: I have spoken with Pam Hersh, Community& State Affairs at PU, and she is going to communicate with the administration for Karin Court to report the most recent concerns of children entering Lawrence apartments. If this problem continues, please let me know. d.. Trash in Playground: According to Housing, the playground between 5 & 6 Lawrence are technically owned by Karin Court. Therefore, facilities does not manage that area. Mark Bianchi is checking on this information to ensure that Princeton does not own that property. e.. New Grills in New Lawrence: The new grills are in stock and Dave Young is inquiring as to when they will be installed. I will keep you all informed. f.. Mail Issues: (Outgoing mail and Packages) I have placed a call to USPS and am attempting to get a mailbox in place. Additionally, Housing is aware of the issue and we are working on a system to improve the issue. This will take me a little more time to resolve and I will keep you all updated. g.. New Lawrence Playground: Housing needs to install a large net between the golf course and the new playground due to safety reasons. There is concern that golf balls will come over from the golf course and cause injury to anyone on the playground. Work on installing the net is to begin within 8-10 weeks, which means the new playgroud may not be in use until the spring. A letter will be issued from Housing soon with more details. If you have further concerns, let me know. Thanks. Tara
