Notes from the Coordinator:-- M.S. Upcoming EventsMonday November 11th, 6:00 p.m. Murray-Dodge Café. The Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual Task Force and the LGB Concerns Coordinator will co-host a pizza dinner for members of the LGBA. The Task Force is interested in getting to know you all and hearing about your interests and concerns. This will also be a time for you to find out what the Task Force is up to and participate in the shaping of its future goals. Please come, meet the Task Force member, share your thoughts and ideas and eat some FREE (yes, Malissa I said Free!) Pizza. LGB Movie Night on Wednesday November 13th, 8:00 p.m. at the Old Grad College, Big TV room The Grad College Residential Life Coordinator and The LGB Concerns Coordinator are co-sponsoring a movie night for LGB graduate students. The movie showing will be "Edward II". Please come and meet some of your fellow LGB grad students and munch on some free (yep, free again) refreshments. And the next day, that is Thursday November 14th at 7:30 p.m. in McCosh 50: the LGB Concerns Coordinator and McCosh Health Center will co-sponsor a professional performance of Susan Sontag's play "The Way We Live Now" in honor of World AIDS Day.[cont.] |
As for the following week, (again) on Wednesday: November 20th at 4:30 p.m., (location TBA): the LGB Concerns Coordinator, The University Center for Human Values (UCHV) and the Religion Department will co-sponsor a panel discussion entitled "Elusive Tolerance". The panel will include Professor Mark Larimore, Department of Religion, Professor David Heyd, Professor of Philosophy at Hebrew University of Jerusalem; Iris Marion Young, Professor of Public and International Affairs at University of Pittsburgh, all of them being fellows of UCHV.
