Research interests:

My research focuses on plant physiology and community dynamics. At the plant physiology level, I’m interested in the relationships between plant carbon and nutrient economies and water use strategies. At the community level, I’m interested in how physiological differences among species influence competition and other community assembly processes across environmental gradients. At the moment, I'm investigating the relationship between physiology and community dynamics in forests in northern Wisconsin.
