Michael A. Reynolds
Assistant Professor of Near Eastern Studies
Princeton University

Michael A. Reynolds has been an assistant professor of Near Eastern Studies at Princeton University since 2005. He received his BA in Government and Slavic Languages from Harvard University, MA in Political Science from Columbia University, and PhD in Near Eastern Studies from Princeton University.  He teaches courses including Introduction to the Middle East; Nation, State, and Empire: The Ottoman, Romanov, and Hapsburg Experiences; Comparative Transformations in the Middle East and Eurasia; and War and Politics in the Modern Middle East.  Reynolds is currently completing a book titled, "Shattering Empires: the Ottoman-Russian Struggle for Anatolia and the Caucasus, 1908-1918,” and his next project will involve an investigation of Muslim experiences of state-led secularism in the Middle East and Eurasia.
