Miriam Schive
Former Resident Director, Liechtenstein Institute in Vienna
MIA Candidate, SIPA Columbia

Miriam Shahrzad Schive is a former special assistant at LISD and former Resident Director of the new Liechtenstein Institute in Vienna (LIVA), a sister research institute to the Liechtenstein Institute on Self-Determination at Princeton University. 

Schive received her B.A. in June 2006 from Princeton University, where she majored in Political Science with certificates in Near Eastern and European Political Studies.  As an undergraduate her independent work focused largely on issues of international law and diplomacy and culminated in her senior thesis, “Menace to International Society?: Foreign Perceptions of the Islamic Republic of Iran.”  

In recent years, Schive has completed internships with Ecologic – the Institute for International and European Environmental Policy, in Berlin; America Abroad Media; and the office of Senator Paul S. Sarbanes in Washington, D.C.  She is fluent in German, French, and Farsi.

She is currently pursuing a Masters of International Affairs at Columbia’s School of International and Public Affairs.
