The Loggerhead Shrike continues. John Danzenbaker writes:

"I tried again this morning (Monday 10th) for the Cedarville Loggerhead Shrike. Arrived just before 7 a.m.: waited and drove back and forth until a little after 9a.m. On a final try, I found the shrike on the ground under the big dense cedar on the left shoulder of the road past the farmhouse, where a road comes in from the right. It flew way out in the field on the left. It landed on a short metal object, apparently a sprinkler or part of a watering system...hardly visible except with binoculars or scope. It dropped to the ground to feed frequently and returned to the sprinkler. At no time did it perch on a wire. Birders seeking the shrike and not finding it on the wires should check the foot high sprinkler heads about 75 to 100 yards out in the field on left of the lone cedar tree. Also noted a roost of Black and Turkey Vultures on the Woodbine Water Tower."

Not a review list species, but of interest, is a Lapland Longspur present at Barnegat light:

"... this past Friday and Saturday. It's been with a flock of about 30 Snow Buntings. On Friday, it was seen best from the path from Seventh Ave. to the jetty. On Saturday, a group of people including myself had it in the dunes after we had walked about halfway down the jetty."
