Mississippi Kite at Sandy Hook, Tuesday May 9 reported by Wendy Malmid
"This morning at Sandy Hook at about 10:15AM as I was coming out from the old ballfield near the lighthouse the Mississippi Kite flew by me heading in the direction of the HawkWatch. I jumped into my car and rushed up there. The kite had preceded me and was seen very well by the HawkWatch counter Dan Brill.It flew around the platform within 100 feet of Dan and then turned and headed south. I stayed on the platform until 1PM and the kite did not return. Spring migration has been terrific thus far for sure. The Hook has been good to excellent daily since last week."
