Subject: Anhinga and Baird's Sandpipers

From Bob Russell, Monday morning:

99% I just had an Anhinga heading SW over Pleasantville at 10 a.m. on Monday. Tweren't a cormorant or ibis. Heads up to the Cape May watchers. Bob Russell, USFWS

From Al Pochek, Monday evening:

Just a note to let you know that the two Baird's sandpipers were still present at Sandy Hook this morning. The birds were located in the West pool at the end of the Fisherman's Trail at the North tip of the hook. Also present were white-rumped and least to give a good comparision.

At the Johnson Sod Farm (Rt # 77) in Upper Deerfield, Cumberland County there were at least 50 golden plovers in the plowed fields off of Griers La (Rt # 688) and at least 18 more in the grassy area off of Olivet La. There were at least 8 buff-breasted, one upland and horned larks in the same area.

I've heard no further news of the Cranes in Cumberland Co. I'm on Jury Duty this week, so please be sure to notify Rich Kane directly (908-766-5787) for the state hotline.
