Sabine's Gull, Merrill Creek Reservoir, Oct. 8

Rich Kane found a juv. Sabine's Gull this morning at Merrill Creek Res., Warren Co. The bird was seen by others up to at least 5 pm.

Reach Merrill Creek Res. from Rt. 78 near Philipsburg. Take Rt. 94 to Fox Farm Rd. On Fox Farm Rd. are two parking areas. The first is located near a cell-phone tower; walk the gravel trail to the main dam. The second is a half-mile or so farther on the right, and allows setup of scopes in the parking area near a smaller dam. The bird was seen from both locations today.
