Subject: W. Tanager still present 10/10

From Wendy Malmid, Oct. 10:

I just returned from Sandy Hook and had the good fortune to see the Tanager. I saw it briefly at 12:30PM and then had a better view around 2:15PM. It also was seen in the locust grove at 11AM. The bird is being very faithful to the area surrounding the hawk watch platform as well to the shrubbery and trees at the beginning of the fisherman's trail on the left side. My first view was of it popping it's head out of a pine tree to the side of the first Coast Guard house where the fenceline begins. The better view was in a small maple tree 20 feet from the bottom of the observation tower staircase.
