Subject: Eared Grebe and other updates

NJBIRDS,

The Eared Grebe seen a week or so ago was relocated at Barnegat Light on Sunday, 14 January. Linda Mack and Scott Barnes watched it from the lighthouse area while it fed across the inlet near the High Bar in Barnegat Inlet, just before and at high tide.

The Barrow's Goldeneye was seen Saturday and Sunday at Horseshoe Cove at Sandy Hook.

A probable Common X Barrow's Goldeneye drake was seen again at Yards Creek lower reservoir after an absence of many weeks. It was with about 50 other Goldeneyes.

In other news, the Sandhill Crane continues at Hamilton Veterans Park (Sat. and Sun.). Two White-fronted Geese are being seen with Canadas at Centerton and Westfield Aves. in Moorestown. A Black-headed Gull was at Shark River Marina, Belmar, on Saturday morning.

Many thanks to all who sent news.
