Barrow's Goldeneye, Sandy Hook, 1/27

The drake Barrow's Goldeneye was still present this morning, Saturday, Jan. 27, at Sandy Hook. He was with a large flock Common Goldeneye, Oldsquaw, and Red-breasted Mergansers directly off the end of the closed access road to the old scout camping area. Park in the parking lot in the median just north of the guard house and walk north along the southbound lane to the access road, on the left. DeLorme p. 39, M-19 near the bottom of the grid.

A drake Redhead continues on the first pond west of the railroad tracks at Lake Takanassee in Long Branch along with a great variety of other diving and puddle ducks. DeLorme 45, I-19.
