In Cape May today there was an incredible total of 20 Cave Swallows (yes, twenty, that is not a typo), with most of the birds seen late in the day over the Beanery and, especially, the South Cape May Meadows. (Up until late afternoon, none had been seen since mid-morning, when 5-8 birds were seen.)
Also, a Myiarchus flycatcher was seen by myself at 3PM in West Cape May at the corner of State and 5th (only a block or so in from the Beanery area) that might have been a Brown-crested Flycatcher. It had the underpart coloration of an Ash-throated, but with a larger-appearing bill and a browner back. We could not find the bird again later on, but will obviously give it a major search on Thursday. If it is refound we will post details quickly.
