Subject: White Ibis and departed Scissor-tailed

One or two White Ibis were seen Thursday evening flying into the heronry in Avalon, Cape May County. The heronry in located in the obvious park in southern Avalon where the cross streets are numbered in the low 70s (e.g., 73 and 74). They were seen at about 7:30 PM.

Also on Thursday, two out-of-town birders found a Scissor-tailed Flycatcher at Higbee Beach WMA (3rd field) around 8 AM or so, but did not spread the word until three hours later, by which time it was gone. Nobody else was able to refind the bird.

There are currently 2 or 3 Mississippi Kites in the West Cape May/Cape May Point area.
