The adult Little Stint continues to be seen as of 9:30 AM on Tuesday. It continues to be seen at the Higbee Beach dredge spoil impoundment (where the morning "dike flight" takes place in fall), where it was present virtually all the time from 10 AM until dusk yesterday. There are some 75-100+ peep at the impoundment, including one Western with rusty plumage. Do NOT under any circumstances try to walk out into the dredge material, as you will sink, as well as flush the birds. But feel free to walk all around the perimeter dike.

Again, be advised that there is no parking anywhere within 1-1/2 miles of Higbees, so one will either need to go on a long hike or, better yet, arrive with more than one person in the vehicle so one can babysit the car at the end of the road at Higbees while the other(s) go and look for the bird.

Also be advised that we recieved almost 2 inches of rain last night and the water levels at the South Cape May Meadows are up, with only some marginal habitat for peep (but still OK for yellowlegs and dowitchers). So it is assumed that the Higbee impoundment is now the best place to search for the bird, with the Meadows being the second choice.
