Townsend's Solitaire:

The Townsend's Solitaire at Heislerville Wildlife Management Area (Cumberland Co.) was seen this morning, 18 January (M. Hyett). It was also reported to the NJ BirdBox (908 647-2357) on Saturday by several observers (B. Boyle, F. Tetlow).

Black-tailed Gull:

The Black-tailed Gull was reported roosting with very large numbers of Ring-billed and Herring gulls just north of Manasquan Inlet on Sunday morning at 7:15 by one observer (A. Egan, BirdBox); unfortunately the flock dispersed and many other birders looked for it during the day with no success as far as I know.

Other news:

I have heard no reports of the Barrow's Goldeneye or Tufted Duck from the Sandy Hook area during the weekend. Recent non-"review" species of interest include numbers of Redheads (Oceanic Bridge, Takanassee Lake and Wreck Pond and Assunpink Lake, all in Monmouth Co); Lapland Longspur (Alpha, Warren Co); Black-headed Gull (Sandy Hook) and Iceland Gull (Manasquan Inlet).

Thanks to all who have contributed reports!
