Subject: Western Tanager still present

Thanks to Tom Halliwell for the following updates, sent about 12:45 pm today, 9 October:

Jim Zamos just called me from Sandy Hook to say that he and Evan Obercian refound the Western Tanager in the trees and shrubbery next to the observation tower at the north end of the Hook. They had it about 12:30 p.m.

The Sabine's Gull was present at least until 10:00 a.m. or so. When I left at 10:30 it had not been seen for about a half hour or so. When last seen it was disappearing around a bend into one of the coves, so it's no doubt still there.
