Composite Materials
Uniaxial Laminates

· The elastic properties of a uniaxial lamina are anisotropic.
· When loaded along the fiber direction with a force P1, the fibers and the matrix experience the same strain (an isostrain configuration).
· Loading normal to the fibers with a force P2 creates an isostress situation for the fibers and the matrix.
