· The position dependent stress given by the linear model is illustrated and compared to a model for which the shear stress is position dependent.

· The stress distributions shown are for a fiber longer than the transfer length. For this case the isostrain condition is reached in the fiber's central region. For an inter-fiber spacing of 2R and b as defined below:
