Variants of Mafia RulesLast Statement variants before one's death
Michael Shadbolt from New Zeland writes about two variants he plays with: * Pre-Execution statement: - When a player gets lynched during the day (or is just about to get lynched) they can make a 'statement' just before they turn their card over. eg if they are the Sheriff (Angel) they can let the Citizens know who they are aware are Mafia/Citizen (as well as chiding the Citizens for lynching their own Sheriff!) * Writing with your blood: - Similarly, but more interestingly, this allows a player to 'write' a small statement in their own blood when they are killed during the night. Normally in a game, if a player is killed during the night, they aren't allowed to speak again. This variation, however, allows them the opportunity to 'speak from the grave' first thing in the morning when they (and everyone) find out that they have been killed. We normally restrict this to a few (or even one) word, as if it were a message written in the blood flowing from their mortally wounded body. Again, this is a good opportunity for the Sheriff (Angel) to share some information, or for you to speak your hunches. See also the Super-Saint variant from Michael.
