The original from was Jorge's was to have a wild "Joker" card which changes roles. In his game, the "Joker" was alternatively the Godfather and the Alpha Wolf, thus overriding the kill decisions from that team for one night.

Another game was played with the "Joker" being again an unknown role to the players. The player should just try to point at people and see what happens (do they die, or is the moderator nodding/shaking his head, etc.) In that game, the Wild Card Joker was the Martyr.

Yet another variation on the same theme was the introduction of James Bond. The rules for James Bond are as follows: the Moderator chooses one role which James Bond is for the game. It can be any "good" role which one could imaging James Bond being. Thus, he could find out who the Mafia are (as the Angel), or he could protect people (as the Archangel), or be a Vigilante, etc. He cannot be the Rambo (he is not THAT trigger-happy), or the Martyr, etc.

In the game we played, he was the Scharping (that is, he "Died Another Day" ;-).

There are endless possibilities here, and lots of fun to be had!
