Special Announcement: EID PLANS!

Princeton's MSA will be celebrating Eid ul-Fitr on Sunday, September 20, based on the Islamic Society of North America's calculations. To mark the occasion, we have a series of events planned:

10AM: Eid Prayer will be held in the Frist Multipurpose Room (MPR), on the bottom level of the Frist campus center. Parking is available along Prospect Avenue or, for students/staff, in the lot behind the CJL.
11AM: Brunch will be served following the prayer, featuring a selection of snacks and refreshments, as we formally break our month-long fast.
7PM: Eid Banquet will be held in the new Carl A. Fields center, on the corner of Olden and Prospect (just opposite the old CAF center). We have a fun and festive night planned, filled with good conversations, a good meal, and a variety of performances showcasing our members' diverse array of talents. Formal attire please - traditional dress is encouraged!

As'salaamu Alaykum, and welcome to a new school year!

"O you who believe, fasting is decreed for you, as it was decreed for those before you, that you may attain salvation." [2:183]

We hope you had a wonderful summer!

This year, Ramadan will begin inshallah on Saturday, August 22nd and Eid-ul-Fitr will be on Sunday, September 20th (according to the Islamic Society of North America). We have a lot planned for this special month, including daily iftars, special interfaith events, community service opportunities, and more!

Make sure to invite your friends (our iftars are open to everyone) and to come yourselves to enjoy spirituality, community, and delicious food! As always, we will need your help throughout the month, so please contribute in any way you can, and together we can make this a Ramadan to remember!

To make sure that you stay updated with all our activities this month, make sure that you are on our MSA mailing list. Because the majority of Ramadan will be before school starts, it is also advised that you join the Summer Mailing List if you're around!

And as always, if you have any questions/comments/suggestions, you can always send them to us msa@princeton.edu. We hope to see you there, and we wish you all a blessed Ramadan!!!

Peace,
Your MSA Board
