NES Postdoctoral Page Postdoctoral Fellowships in the Department of Near Eastern Studies Applications are invited for postdoctoral fellowships in the study of the Middle East since the First World War. The Department intends to make up to two postdoctoral research associate appointments for up to two academic years each, with the possibility of renewal for a third year. Applicants must have the PhD by September 1, 2010; discipline is open. Successful candidates will be expected to contribute to the life of the Department in several ways (convening a seminar on the modern Middle East, organizing occasional small conferences, teaching a limited number of courses, advising some undergraduates in their independent work, and participating in outreach activities). However, the bulk of their time is to be devoted to research and publication, and to broadening their knowledge of the Middle East, including its pre-modern heritage where this is relevant to their research interests. Competitive salary plus benefits; each appointee will have a small research fund. Princeton University is an Affirmative Action/Equal Opportunity Employer. For further information about applying to Princeton, see http://web.princeton.edu/sites/dof/ApplicantsInfo.htm For information about current and former NES postdocs see link below: Current and former Postdoctorals
