Mission

"To increase the number of culturally responsible black engineers who excel academically, succeed professionally, and positively impact the community."

The National Society of Black Engineers is a student and professional organization dedicated to the support and advancement of minorities in the various disciplines of engineering. The Princeton University Chapter declares its dedication to further the ends of NSBE, both in the university and in the surrounding community.

Our Chapter’s goals are as follows:

  • To aid each member in gaining expertise in his or her field in accordance with the goals of the national organization.
  • To assist members in finding opportunities both in research and in the professional sphere.
  • To urge members to use their training not only for their own benefit, but to help today’s primary and secondary school students gain adequate exposure to science and technology.
  • To provide a network of peers, friends, classmates and mentors to help foster a more enjoyable and rewarding experience for black engineers at Princeton University.
  • Fulfilling the mission of the national organization: To increase the number of culturally responsible black engineers who excel academically, succeed professionally and positively impact the community.
