Eastview Publications' Universal Databases offer access to full-text electronic versions of major Russian and regional newspapers and many CIS periodicals on the same day, as well as Social Science journals in Russian.  .       ON-CAMUS: UDB are available to all Princeton University faculty, students and staff from all on-campus computers.

      OFF-CAMPUS: Students, faculty, and staff with a valid Princeton ID can also access UDB from off-campus.

To find out when the latest issue of a particular title has been added to the database visit the East View Web site.

The Universal Databases are an excellent source for information on business, economics, domestic and foreign policy and important political events in Russia and the former Soviet Union. The Database search mechanism provides for global searching across all the above mentioned newspapers, individual titles or particular issues, as well as archival searches.

NOTE: The UDRN Help file provides instructions on searching techniques and other useful information. If you have any questions, you may email East View or call at 800-477-1005. Technical specialists will be happy to walk you through the process of fine-tuning your computer system so that you could use all the benefits of the Russian-language search mechanism. This database works best with the Internet Explorer 4.01 and Netscape 4.00 and up.
