Sunday Hike in on Escarpment Trail (ES-Blue) to junction of Elm Ridge Trail (ER-Yellow.) Take

ER-Y South to lean-to.

Campsite1:
near leanto on ER-Y
Monday There is NO WATER UNTIL CAMP. Fill up before you leave. Hike the ES-B east over

Windham High Peak and Burnt Knob. Gorgeous views of Hudson River Valley. Turn

south onto Black Dome Trail (BD-Red.) Continue on BD-R to Batavia Kill trail (BK-

Yellow) and camp at the BK-Y leanto.

no water during the day; Batavaia Kill Stream (under bridge near parking lot)

Tuesday Dayhike: Hike back to BD-R and follow BD-R south to jct with Blackhead Mtn. Trail

(BM-Yellow). Hike west on BD-R to views at Black Dome and Thomas Cole Mountain.

Black Dome has some of the best views in the Cats. It's 2.5mi from leanto to summit

of Black Dome, and another 0.75 to Thomas Cole. Take the BD-R back to jct and

follow BM-Y east over Blackhead. STEEP DESCENT from Blackhead on the ES-B,

then back to BK leanto. If slippery, do not descend Blackhead.

Wednes There's NO WATER UNTIL CAMP. Fill up in the morning. Follow BK-Y southeast to

junction w/ ES-B. Take ES-B south, past jct of BM-Y and on to junction w/ Colgate

Lake trail (CL-Yellow.) Camp 1mi down CL-Y near first lake (unnamed) on map, which

is actually a swampy area.

no water during the day, East Kill stream, stream on Dutcher's Notch trail (DU-Y)

0.3mi east on CL/DU jct

Campsite4:
~1 mi. down CL trail in a field (must be 150 ft from trail and water)
Thursday Hike back to ES-B and follow it SE to North Point (360 view--Albany to the NE). North

Point is 0.5mi past North Mtn summit. Look for campsite to the south side of trail,

0.2mi before jct with Mary's Glen Trail (MG-Red). NO WATER AT CAMPSITE. Lots of

porcupines.

Campground

Campsite5:
campsite south on ES-B at North Point; Alternate campsite at Stoppel Point. Be sure

to camp 150' from trail. Note: NO CAMPING between North Lake and North Point.
Friday Sunrise from North Point. Continue on ES-B to jct Mary's Glen Trail (MG-Red). Follow MG-R 1/2 mi to jct Rock Shelter trail (RS-Yellow).

Take RS-Y toward Haires Falls Rd, not N/S Campground. Hike 1 mi on RS southwest to Schutt Road parking lot for bus pick-up.
