Sunday There's NO WATER AT CAMP. CARRY CHICKENS. Follow Rock Shelter Trail (RS-

Yellow) 1.4 mi to jct Mary's Glen Trail (MG-Red). Hike 0.65mi N on MG-R to jct

Escarpment Trail (ES-Blue). Hike 0.2 mi west on ES(B) to North Point (360 view,

Albany to the NE). North Point is 0.5mi from North Mtn summit. Look for campsite on

the south side of trail. Can also continue 1.7mi further to Stoppel Point and camp

there.

Creek along RS-Y, stream on MG-R, NO WATER AT CAMPSITE, carry in lots of

water from campus (see tomorrow)

Campsite1:
campsite off of ES-B at North Point; Alternate campsite at Stoppel Point. Be sure to

camp 150' from trail. Note: NO CAMPING between North Lake and North Point.
Monday sunrise from North Point. There's NO WATER UNTIL CAMP tonight. Follow ES-B NW

(3.5mi) to junction w/ Colgate Lake Trail (CL-Yellow.) Follow CL-Y 1 mi to field by first

lake (unnamed) on map, which is actually a swampy area.

no water during the day, stream and lake along CL-Y, spring on Dutcher Notch Trail

(DN-Yellow) 0.35mi from jct CL/DN
Campsite2:
1 mi. down CL-Y by stream, be sure to camp at least 150ft from trail and water

sources
Tuesday Follow CL-Y back to ES-B. Hike NW on ES-B past jct with Blackhead Mtn trail (BM-

Yellow). Be careful on STEEP DESCENT down Blackhead Mtn. [If raining, do not

descend Blackhead--take BM-Y to BD-R.] Continue on ES-B to jct with Batavia Kill Trail

(BK-Yellow.) Follow BK-Y 0.5 mi (past lean-to) and look to the left for a clearing.

Campsite is south of jct BK-Y and BD-R, between two streams. Must camp at least

150ft from water sources.

Wednes Dayhike: Drop packs at leanto and dayhike NW to jct Black Dome Range trail (BD-R).

Take the BD-R south to jct with BM-Y. Dayhike west on BD-R to viewpoints at Black

Dome and Thomas Cole Mtns. Some of the best views in the Cats from Black Dome.

It's 2.5mi from leanto to summit of Black Dome, and another 0.75 to Thomas Cole.

Return to BK-Y leanto to camp.

Thursday There's NO WATER UNTIL CAMP. Start with plenty. Hike NW on BK-Y to jct of BD-

R. Take the BD-R north to jct of ES-B. Follow the ES-B west over Burnt Knob and

Windham High Peak to jct of Elm Ridge Trail (ER-Yellow). Camp near leanto.
