Sunday Hike 1/2 mile up Jerusalem Road (when exiting parking lot, Jerusalem Road is on the

Right). AT is on right, even though there are signs it is easy to miss (might have to

climb over a fence to reach trail).. Hike south on AT over Cobble Hill (NO CAMPING

ON COBBLE HILL) to Hop Brook area. Shaker Campsite may be full, so possible

good idea to camp at pipeline clearing approx. 0.5 mile after Main Road.

Monday North on AT to Upper Goose Pond campsites (9.5 miles on AT, 0.5 miles on spur trail

to UGP). Donation was already made to the MA AT committee. Show Mary Pat

Yarusites (the caretaker) the receit enclosed in packet from Debbie Klaber if

necessary. Tough day, so get an early start! ONLY ONE PRINCETON GROUP CAN

CAMP HERE AT A TIME.

Wednes North on AT to Kay Wood Shelter. Besides support water-drop, potentially no water

between campsites, so water-drop with support is important. Set out early, need to

hike 5 miles before 12:30. Green Flag: will meet MA61 at water-drop.

Thursday Hike North on AT. Pay attention in Dalton. Proceed down lumber company driveway

and cross Housatonic St onto Depot St. After about 0.5 mi, turn left onto Rt 8.

Reach jct of Rts 8 and 9 in Dalton. Follow AT markers and cross the intersection to

find the [hidden] dead end of High Street to west. BE CAREFUL AT ROAD

CROSSINGS. Follow white blazes on the telephone poles on High St. Cross Park Ave

to Gulf Road, which leads to trailhead (from High St to trailhead is 1.0 mile). Hike

North on AT to Crystal Mountain Shelter, camp (mileage 7.9 miles even though sign on

trail may say 6.7). Side trail to shelter is shortly after powerlines. If you miss this

you can follow the water source uphill.

Friday North on AT over the Cobbles to Cheshire. Two great viewpoints, leave early so you have time for both. Hike to First Baptist Church

on Rt 8 -- 0.4 miles West of AT. Big white church is on your left.
