Leader Exploratory Biking Expedition Over Fall Break

Sunday, Oct. 26 - Friday, Oct. 31biking group
Location: Potomac River, Washington, DC to Cumberland, MD

OA has a special Leader's Only Biking Trip scheduled for Fall Break to explore the possibility of adding biking into next year's Frosh Trip. The 184.5 mile long Chesapeake & Ohio Canal is located along the north bank of the Potomac River, starting in Washington, DC and ending in Cumberland, MD. There is camping every five miles along the towpath. We'll be exploring biking the towpath and doing some circuit rides out from there to different destinations. You must have completed all of your leader training requirements but do not have to have led a trip. You'll need to provide your own bike and helmet.

Backpack the Shenandoahs

Sunday, Oct. 26 - Friday, Oct. 31backpacking group
Location: Shenandoah National Park, VA

The views from the summits of the Shenandoah Mountains in Virginia are spectacular! OA is offering a 5-day backpacking trip to the beautiful mountains of Virginia during Fall Break. The trip will cover 4-8 miles each day and basic wilderness and Leave No Trace camping skills will be taught. Equipment, transportation, and food will be provided by OA. This trip is open to Princeton University students, faculty and staff.

Canoe trip group

 

Canoe the Delaware

Sunday, Oct. 26 - Friday, Oct. 31
Location: Delaware Water Gap, NJ

Canoe through the spectacular fall colors on the Delaware River in northern New Jersey. OA is offering a 5-day flatwater canoeing trip to the Delaware Water Gap. Meet new friends and enjoy crisp fall air and changing leaves. The trip will cover 12-15 river miles each day and basic canoeing and Leave No Trace camping skills will be taught. Equipment, transportation, and food will be provided by OA. This trip is open to Princeton University students, faculty and staff.
