The largest lecture hall on campus, McCosh 50, can seat 480 students—but you will not find many classes that large at Princeton. If you do have a large lecture class, it will be broken up into smaller groups that meet weekly for precept or lab sessions. Furthermore, all lecture courses and seminars are led by tenure-track professors, visiting faculty members, or lecturers with a Ph.D.—never by graduate students.

As students reach upper-level courses, there is an emphasis on seminar-style teaching and personal attention. In the senior year, each student works one-on-one with a faculty thesis adviser.

Princeton professors are extremely accessible. They are happy to chat with students during weekly open office hours and will gladly make time for individual meetings with students. E-mail is also a popular way for students to communicate with their professors.
