A unique opportunity for freshmen is the Freshman Seminar Program.
Each seminar includes 12-15 freshmen and a professor, and meets weekly to
discuss a special-interest topic. Freshman seminars enable interaction
with world-famous faculty and can be used to fulfill distribution
requirements. Freshman seminars offered in 2007-8 include "Life in a
Nuclear-Armed World," "Creating the Computer: From ENIAC to the
Internet," and "Literature and Human Rights."
