In addition to the week's lectures, most humanities and social sciences classes meet weekly in small sections known as precepts. Precepts provide an open forum for discussing and clarifying the material covered in the week's lectures and readings. They include 8 to 15 students and are led by the course's professor, another member of the faculty, or a specially trained graduate student.
