Although it is by far the largest, Firestone is just one of more than twenty
library facilities. The others include specialized libraries (such as the
Architecture Library and the Mudd Manuscript Library) and 24-hour study
libraries in the residential colleges and eating clubs. For a listing of
campus libraries, please click here.
The University is also in the process of building a new campus library,
the Lewis Science Library. This library will connect the current
collections of the Departments of Chemistry, Molecular Biology, Ecology and
Evolutionary Biology. Frank Gehry, a world renowned architect, was
commissioned to design the new facility on the corner of Washington Road
and Ivy Lane in the heart of what has become the science quadrant of
campus. The library should be complete in 2008.
