Downloading and Browsing Instructions

Opening reports
The reports are organized in alphabetical, chronological, and topical lists on the blue publication pages. Open an information page for an individual reports by clicking on its title. In order to read the reports, you'll need the free Acrobat Reader, available from Adobe Systems.

Browsing page-by-page (Coming soon!)
Because the files stored at this archive maintain the full layout and graphical content of the original paper reports, the files can be quite large. This site is being optimized for use with Adobe's Amber Reader, which will be released later this year. This new version of the Reader, when used in conjunction with a frames-compatible browser or other compatible browsers, will allow page-by-page access to all OTA documents, without the necessity of downloading complete files first.

Downloading
For now, though, it is necessary to transfer report or chapter files to your computer for viewing and printing. The information page for each report contains the title, cover, and ordering information about the report. Below that are links to the PDF files for the full report and the individual chapters.

Saving your own copy of an OTA report
If you simply click on a link, the file will transfer to a temporary cache file on your computer. You'll be able to read it, but you won't be able to save a permanent copy unless you are using Adobe's commercial product Exchange as your helper application for PDF files. To save a copy of the file on your computer, make a pop-up menu appear by clicking on the link and holding the mouse button down (if you are using a Macintosh) or clicking on the link with the right mouse button (Windows and Unix). Choose "Save this link as..." from the pop-up menu, then choose a location for the file using the dialog box that will appear. Finally, open the file using the Acrobat reader.
