| PCAT makes a guest appearance in
new episode of Fox’s 24 The president of the Princeton Committee Against Terrorism (PCAT) announced today that his organization will appear on an upcoming episode of Fox’s popular series “24.” Richard Stillworth III ’03 said to a throng of reporters in the Senate Chamber of Whig Hall that he thinks this is “one small step for PCAT, one giant leap against terrorism.” Some members of the Committee voiced misgivings about this distraction. “I’m concerned about this whole thing,” said Carla Ramirez-Vossy ‘04. “I just hope that terrorists don’t think that we are dropping our guard. If they think we’re busy getting primped for the next scene, they might figure that the coast is clear and launch an attack.” Stillworth, however, argues that this publicity is just the thing that PCAT needs to bring terrorists to justice. “If Osama isn’t already petrified of us, by which I mean PCAT, and the whole University community, who stand wholeheartedly behind us, he will be after he sees this episode of 24. He’ll probably turn himself in when he sees it. Assuming, of course, he gets reception in his bombed-out cave.” The announcement follows on the heels of the passing of PCAT bill 2-354, which gave Stillworth the power to begin negotiations with Fox. “We had a series of debates to make sure this is what people wanted and that this was the right direction for the War on Terror,” said Ryan Brillis ’06, head of the Television Appearances Subcommittee. Stillworth did not elaborate on the role of PCAT in the episode, saying only “I’d love to tell you what we do in the program, but I fear it would spoil the ending.” He also did not mention if the Princeton Committee Against the Princeton Committee Against Terrorism (PCAPCAT) would appear in the episode. An industry insider, however, gave the Pauper a glimpse of PCAT’s role in the episode. When a member of the Counter-Terrorist unit assigned to find a bomb in Los Angeles asks if he ought to contact PCAT, his superior asks, “Do we want to find the bomb, or not? These guys are the best hope the free world has."
