Mirbagheri's Agents caught breaking into Anderson's HQ
December 9, 2002

Sunday night, just before the polls closed for the USG elections, four men dressed in black were caught in candidate Josh Anderson's dorm in Scully Hall. They carried flashlights and were rifling through documents. Public Safety apprehended the four, whose identities have not been revealed. No word of the raid or the bust was released to the public by the University or the USG, which has denied the whole incident. Through an inside source, The Princeton Pauper has obtained information about the cover-up and the Scully raid. The news is shocking: the four burglars were working for USG vice-president and presidential candidate Sonya Mirbagheri, who sent them into Anderson's Scully dormitory to sabotage his campaign.

We called Ms. Mirbagheri, but she denied outright that the raid on Anderson's room ever happened. But our source, who for security reasons we must refer to only as "Strep Throat", has told us otherwise. Not only did Mirbagheri order the Scully Hall break-in, she also intimidated other USG officers into tampering with the election results.

The USG used intolerable delaying tactics to prevent the election results from being made public until the last possible moment, and now we know why. Anderson received more votes than Mirbagheri, a current member of the USG Executive Board, and Sonya used her political power to adjust the election results in her favor. Josh Anderson is the one who is supposed to be in the run-off with Pettus Randall, not Sonya Mirbagheri. Sonya knew that Anderson was a threat even before the votes were tallied, and tried to intimidate him into dropping out of the race by getting her thugs to sack his room. Then, when he refused to be bullied, Mirbagheri sunk even lower, resorting to vote tampering to get her way. But now the heat is on, and it's time for the USG to tell us the truth.

Could the corruption go any higher? Yes. Strep Throat has communicated to us in no uncertain terms that USG President Nina Langsam was aware of the break-in shortly after it occurred and that she was the one who ordered the cover-up. According to Strep Throat, secret tapes exist that incriminate Langsam herself beyond a reasonable doubt. Langsam, like her vice-president, would not even admit that the raid on Anderson's campaign headquarters had happened. She vehemently denied that she had allowed a cover-up or any vote-tampering to occur. "I am not a crook" is all that the President would offer.

If she's not a crook, then the President has nothing to hide, so why not release the tapes? If this is an open democracy, then we the voters should know what's going on behind the closed doors of the USG. We demand that Sonya Mirbagheri and Nina Langsam come clean about their involvement in the Scully raid and that the full election results be released to the public - immediately. We want proof that the elections were run fairly and that corrupt government officials are not destroying our democracy.

The Pauper will pursue this investigation until the truth becomes public knowledge. With the help of Strep Throat, our inside informer, we will get to the bottom of this corruption.
