Rite of Autumn

by Meg Jameson

Elliot Leffler of Trent Graphics, based in Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania, was ringing up a sale for sophomore Dyonne Venable on the afternoon of September 11, shortly before classes started on the 14th. Venable, a Butler College resident who is originally from Hampton, Virginia, bought three prints: Orange, Brown and Orange and Yellow by Mark Rothko and Terrasse de Café by Vincent Van Gogh. According to a Trent Graphics representative, art prints are bigger sellers at Princeton than at other schools, where students are more likely to buy posters of popular bands, such as Dave Matthews. The poster sale went on all week in Firestone Plaza.
