Room to Read by Josephine Sittenfeld '02 After a gloriously beautiful
weekend in May, in which the universityÕs 19th president was named
and houseparties rocked the Street, reading period began. On Monday,
May 7, Steve Bernemen Õ02 and Elyse Kovalsky Õ03 plugged in their
laptops at Firestone LibraryÕs recently renovated Trustee Reading
Room to begin the semesterÕs final study stretch. Bernemen was pounding
out his junior paper on after-school programs for at-risk youth
in Philadelphia, while Kovalsky was busy finishing up an art history
paper on realism.
