A letter from a reader about Encouraging ‘honest opinions’

March 23 , 2007

Why does Professor Dan Rubenstein (feature, June 7) not only post the question – “explaining evolution and its scientific merits and addressing why it should be taught in science class” – but also direct the answer – “and why intelligent design should not be”? If he would ask for op-eds arguing that both be taught, or either (or others), then he could be sure his students were indeed “writing their honest opinions.”
