Purpose of the Student Groups Projects Board

The Projects Board, as a standing committee of the USG, is empowered with two principal functions. First, the Board is to serve as one of the primary funders for all campus events and activities initiated by student groups having "541 accounts" recognized by the Office of the Dean of Undergraduate Students (ODUS) and the USG. Second, the Board, as an expert body with regard to the planning and administration of campus events, is to act in an advisory role to organizations, facilitating relevant information to event organizers. The Projects Board is here to help you!

The USG Projects Board is the branch of the USG that provides grants for student group programming. At Projects Board meetings, the following sources of funding are available:

USG Projects Board ($55,000 annually)
Venture Fund ($24,000 annually)
Woodrow Wilson School Fund ($10,000 annually)
USG Publications Fund ($10,000 annually)
Pace Center ($10,000 annualy)
Office of the Dean of Undergraduate Students

If you are a student group interested in applying to the Projects Board, please refer to the important links below before filling out the application.

Public Service and Civic Engagement

The Pace Center reserves $10,000 per year to fund organized student groups' civic engagement or community service projects. These might include outreach efforts by performing arts groups, community service events, educational panels or conferences on matters of pubic import, or training sessions for groups involved in community engagement or humanitarian fundraising. The fund was established to encourage student groups to work in support of Princeton's mission to be "in the nation's service, and in the service of all nation's."

Applicants should complete the regular Projects Board event funding application (found at the link to the left), and indicate interest in applying for Pace funding. The Board makes recommendations to the Pace representative, who makes the final funding decision. Pace funds can be used for food and for events that are held off campus. They cannot be used for direct contribution to other non-profit organizations. Decisions favor those events that are well conceived to show the impact to be felt by the student participants and the community, on campus or off.
