March 24: Over 1,200 students have signed the PCAIR petition!

February 28PCAIR General Info Meeting

Pizza and really good cookies?  What did you say?  PCAIR will be
holding our first and most important General Info Meeting for students
interested in learning more about bringing an ethically informed and
responsible perspective to the management of Princeton's $10 billion
endowment.

When: Monday, Feb. 28th, 9 p.m.
Where: Frist 307
What: Pizza, cookies, some good info and discussion

We are also lucky to have as our guest Ryan Burg, a PhD candidate in
Business Ethics at the Wharton School and the national director of the
Responsible Endowments Coalition, an organization promoting socially
responsible investment and empowering students at over 30 schools
across the country.  Ryan will talk a little about socially responsible
investment as a force for positive social change and can answer any
questions regarding other schools and the general movement.

Come, bring some friends and enjoy the food, whether you are thinking
about possibly joining PCAIR or just want to know more about this
movement.

February 23, 24: PCAIR in Frist

PCAIR members will be sitting at a table in front of the pool room in the 100 level of Frist Campus Center from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 23 and Thursday, Feb. 24.  We want to talk to people about supporting a change in Princeton’s proxy voting policy and getting signatures for our petition.

February 14: Administration Announces Formal Review of Proxy Voting Policy During Spring Semester

Princeton University announced at today's Council of the Princeton University Community (CPUC) meeting that is instituting a
formal review of its proxy voting policy.  This is a very significant
step towards PCAIR’s goal of having a proxy voting advisory committee at Princeton University to review social issues proxies and recommend to the board of trustees how to vote in an ethically acceptable manner.
The Resources Committee, a sub-committee of the CPUC that is charged to deal with all socially responsible investment issues, will conduct the review and report back to the trustees at their May meeting.  This would not have happened had not PCAIR, in the fall of 2004, convinced the University that a review of the current policy was in order.
It is now PCAIR's task to support the Resources Committee in its research, and to show them how the members of the University community, such as students, staff, faculty, and alumni, feel about these issues, which the committee must consider in their deliberations. Sign our petition (click here) to make your voice heard.

February 13: USG passes resolution supporting PCAIR-proposed proxy voting advisory committee

Princeton's Undergraduate Student Government (USG) passed a resolution endorsing the creation of a proxy voting advisory committee to review social issues proposals and recommend how to vote in an ethically responsible way to the trustees. This is only the second resolution the USG has passed in at least five years.

February 7-18: PCAIR In The Dining Halls

PCAIR members will be sitting in residential college dining halls during dinner over the next two weeks to inform students about the movement to change Princeton University’s proxy voting policy. We hope as many students as possible will sign our petition to create a proxy voting advisory committee and get interested in both this particular movement and socially responsible investment in general.

The schedule: Butler on Fri., Feb. 11 and Thurs., Feb 17
Forbes on Mon., Feb. 7 and Friday Feb. 18
Mathey on Tues., Feb. 8 and Tues., Feb. 15
Rocky on Wed., Feb. 9 and Mon., Feb. 14
