Mission
Started in 1994, the Princeton Center for Complex Materials (PCCM)
is an NSF-funded Materials Science and Research Center (MRSEC) at
Princeton University dedicated to pushing the frontiers of complexity
in materials science. PCCM brings together over thirty faculty from
six departments in the natural sciences and engineering, and is
centered in Bowen Hall at the eastern entrance to campus. PCCM currently
has four Interdisciplinary Research Groups (IRGs) and several seed
projects:
IRG A: Electronic Materials with Triangular Lattice and Dirac Excitations
Mission
IRG B: Design and Control of Buried Active Molecular Materials Interfaces
Mission
IRG C: Integrated Self-Assembled Nanostructures
Mission
IRG D: Quantum Control in Semiconductor Nanostructures
Mission
Seed Projects
In addition to forefront materials research, the center sponsors
an active educational outreach program involving elementary, middle
and high schools, as well as a Research Experience for Undergraduates
(REU) and a Research Experience for Teachers (RET) programs. Industrial
collaboration is also an important aspect of PCCM research. More
information on our outreach and collaborative programs may be accessed
