Princeton University Materials Academy (P.U.M.A.)
summers, July through early August

P.U.M.A.is an intensive, full immersion in science and engineering summer program for high school students that specifically targets students from underserved communities and young women.  Students spend two to six weeks learning about materials science innovations from Princeton scientists in an intensive course in 2 sessions each summer.  The 9-3 daily schedule is filled with lectures, lab activities, and challenges to help them better understand the science behind the research they are performing.  Faculty, staff and students may contribute their time to conduct lectures, lab activities, or develop new curriculum based on their work.
