From Mark W. Watson, Interim Dean of the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs
Welcome to the seventh annual Princeton Colloquium on Public and International Affairs. This year’s Colloquium, “Prosperity or Peril? The Next Phase of Globalization,” will examine the impacts of globalization on states, global society, and the planet. Will these forces result in a more stable and prosperous global society? Or a dysfunctional global system in which instability and violence are endemic?
Participants in the 2009 Colloquium will engage in the constructive dialogue that has become the hallmark of the Princeton Colloquium on Public and International Affairs. Our goal is the development of policy recommendations that will lay the groundwork for a positive answer to the Colloquium’s thematic question.
On behalf of the Woodrow Wilson School, I would like to thank everyone who has helped to make the Colloquium a reality over the past seven years. I would also like to welcome and thank our esteemed speakers and panelists for taking the time to be with us and for sharing their extensive experience and knowledge. I hope you will be able to join us, as well.
