PhotographyHere's a link to my photography website.
I've been shooting slides since 1982, when my Dad bought me my first 35mm camera - a Canon AE-1P.
Since 2004, I've been shooting with a Nikon D70 digital SLR. I love this camera, and I've collected several nice Nikon lenses to go with it - 28mm, 50mm, 12-24mm, 24-80mm VR, 80-400mm VR.
In 1996, that first AE-1P died, so I bought a Canon EOS Elan II and 3 Canon lenses, a 28-80 zoom, a 75-300 zoom, and a nice 85mm portrait lens. About that same time, I decided to start digitizing my favorite photos from my collection. Later I added Canon's 24-85mm zoom lens, which was my favorite lens for a while - the extra wide angle was incredibly useful for panoramic outdoors shots and for shooting indoors at short distances. I also have a Nikon 885 digital P&S, which I've used on some of my biking and backpacking trips with the Appalachian Mtn Club - it does OK, but the autofocus is mediocre and it's hard to get good pictures out of it.
I decided to switch to Nikon, and sold off or gave away all my old Canon gear, after the Elan II died (I took it on a backpacking trip, it rained, the camera got wet - oops!) I decided liked the controls on the D70 better than the Digital Rebel, and I wanted to get some of those famous Nikon lenses!
I've taken lots of photos over the years.
Here's a peek at some of my favorites.
I also have a few stashed in other places...
Photos from some AMC trips I've been on.
Photos from a trip to Mount Rainier.
A new project I've gotten into recently, is collecting old slides and photos from my childhood, and digitizing them. Maybe a few of those will make it onto this page eventually. Also, I'm headed to Mt Kilimanjaro and the Ngorongoro Crater in Africa in January 2007, and looking forward to getting some great photos there!
