Survey of Junior Summer Institute Applicants

The Public Policy and International Affairs (PPIA) Fellowship Program wants to learn more about the educational experiences and careers that are planned and pursued by students who applied for admission to the Junior Summer Institute (JSI) program. All former applicants are being invited to participate in an online survey. A report based on the results of the survey will be shared with JSI alumni, PPIA consortium members, and potential donors.

The main objectives of the survey are to:

  • Provide the program with feedback from past applicants

  • Learn about PPIA applicants choices for graduate education

  • Evaluate applicants' career paths

  • Boost participation in PPIA- sponsored events such as the upcoming 30th PPIA Anniversary Celebrations.

This survey was designed by Princeton University’s JSI in collaboration with the PPIA and the four other schools that currently host a JSI program, including the University of California at Berkeley, Carnegie Mellon University, the University of Maryland, and the University of Michigan.

The survey is being conducted by the Princeton University Survey Research Center.  All of the information collected in the survey is completely confidential. You have been invited to participate in the survey because you once applied for or participated in a Junior Summer Institute that was sponsored by PPIA, Ford-Woodrow Wilson, Sloan, Pickering, or IIPP Fellowship.  This survey is entirely voluntary, although we would greatly appreciate your complete and candid responses.

Your experiences and opinions are important to us.  Remember that the survey is confidential and that you can skip over any questions you do not wish to answer.
