The Heidi Chronicles

A LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC
MUSIC AND LYRICS BY STEPHEN SONDHEIM
BOOK BY HUGH WHEELER

Legendary composer and lyricist Stephen Sondheim’s nostalgic music fills the June air in this sweet, sardonic ode to the foolish abandon of romance. For Madame Armfeldt’s guests, love can never come too soon—or too late. There are lovers hidden in every corner of her country manse: her daughter, Desirée, the actress; Desirée’s former beau, Fredrik, and his new young wife, Anne; Desirée’s current lover, Carl-Magnus and his wife, Charlotte; and still others, it seems, making a racket in the stables. Lovers are swapped, lives intersect, and as the night smiles on the young, the old, and the foolish, everything somehow falls beautifully into place.

Turn of the Screw Spirit

GASLIGHT
BY PATRICK HAMILTON

Patrick Hamilton’s Gaslight, one of Britain’s finest psychological thrillers, takes audiences on a nail-biting journey through one couple’s slow descent into chaos. Is Mrs. Manningham truly going mad, or is her illness merely an illusion created by her husband? And where does Mr. Manningham disappear to every night, while mysterious noises sound from the Manningham attic? Can anyone be trusted? Originally presented in America as Angel Street, and immortalized in the 1944 film with Ingrid Bergman and Charles Boyer, this gripping play will keep audiences on the edge of their seats from start to finish.

Misalliance Parlor

BOEING-BOEING
BY MARC CAMOLETTI

Bernard, an American playboy running wild in 1960s Paris, appears to have it all: a perfect apartment, a staunchly loyal housekeeper, and three devoted flight attendant fiancées. He has juggled these French, German, and American beauties with precision, and each woman thinks she is Bernard’s one true love. But when an unexpected scheduling glitch brings all three fiancées to Paris—and to Bernard’s apartment—he and his friend Robert must scramble to keep his duplicity under wraps. Hilarity ensues as this flirtatious French farce shows how the glamorous panache of 1960s air travel can have its caveats.

THE AMERICAN PLAN
BY RICHARD GREENBERG

Love is in the air in Richard Greenberg’s wistful modern masterpiece, The American Plan. For Lili Adler and her mother, Eva, every summer in the Catskills is the same… until the summer of 1960, when Lili meets the charming Nick Lockeridge. He seems perfect to Lili, but Eva harbors private suspicions. When secrets begin to come to light, Lili’s trust in those she loves most is tested. Greenberg looks back to a time when expectation, family, desire, love, need, loneliness and fear all prove inescapable ties that drag us back to shore, even when we most wish to drift out to sea.
