Band Members
|
Mickey Mouse (Fall '80, Spring '90, Fall '93, Spring '97)
Mickey leads the Band in singing before every football game,
as well as before all parades.
The ceremonial ears have been traced as far back as the mid-1970's.
|
Classes of '00, '01, '02 (Reunions '99)
Reunions is from the original
Latin Reunensis, meaning
"to party for three days while wearing
orange and black."
During a brief pause in the festivities,
Band members gather to pose.

NCAA Basketball Tournament (3/96)
The Band performing at the Hoosier Dome (a.k.a. RCA Dome)
before the Princeton-UCLA basketball game.
Despite the excitement of the upset, we remember to
send a postcard to our less-fortunate friends in the Penn Band.
|
Classes of '01, '02, '03 (Reunions 00)
The classes of '01 and '02 are a year older but not a year wiser.
The class of '03 is introduced to the wonders of this event. |

Pyramids (Spring '96, Fall '98)
The Band demonstrates a rare moment of organization;
Band pyramids used to be traditional after halftime shows.
(Maybe that's how fleshpiles got started.)
|
Musical Advisor (11/93, Reunions '96)
Jack Hontz is our Musical Advisor. (We really are entirely-student
run; Jack's the Band Director for a High School, not a University
faculty or staff member responsible for the Band.)
We love Jack, and rarely set him on fire.
Sons Jack Jr. and David are the littlest Band members.

Drillmasters
|
Four DMs at the Van (4/96, 11/92)
The DMs (short for Drillmasters) do lots of sh*twork, including
transporting the instruments around in the Band Van (shown here, actual
size).
|
|
|
Four DMs at the Van (5/97, 10/98)
They also help out the Drum Major at field rehearsals (hence
the name "Drillmaster"), write the weekly Poop,
take attendance and play phone tag with Band members,
and do whatever else needs to be done.
|
|
Four DMs at the Van (5/94, 11/95)
DMs also particularly enjoy constructing whatever items are needed for each week's halftime show (the dreaded "DM Props"). They often attend show writing just to be sure that each show involves as many heavy, complicated props as possible. In their spare time, DMs like to load and unload the Band Van. Repeatedly.
|
|
|
DM Boxers (Fall '97)
Occasionally known as Godlike Apparitions, the DMs annually grace us with words of wisdom.
|
|
xDMs (Reunions '96)
At the Band Reunion following the P-Rade, xDMs meet the current DMs, and swap horror stories. ("Well back in my day...")
|
|
Stud Conductors, Drum Majors, Presidents
|
Stud Conductor (11/93)
The Student Conductor conducts the Band (hence the name). Usually this involves a great deal of waving of arms and shouting "Yo Band" in a futile attempt to get everyone to watch the conductor.
|
| Drum Major (10/00) While the spiritual leader
of the band, the Drum Major occasionally needs guidance of his own.
When in need of guidance, a map is often the best "tool"
for the job. |

|
Stud Conductor and Drum Major (5/94, 5/99, 5/00)
The Drum Major is the other of the two "white coats" responsible for
leading the Band. The Drum Major leads the Band on the field,
while marching, and during field rehearsals. The Drum Major is
also responsible for our shows, and leads the frequent show writing
sessions throughout the week. |
| Stud Conductor, President, Drum Major (11/94, 11/00)
The Band President is ultimately responsible for the Band. It's the
President who carries the bail money. The short square fellow in front
is The P-Ladder. |

|
President (11/95, Reunions '96, 10/00) The Presidential
Kilt is the gift of several President Emereti. Debuting in 1995,
it's worn by the President on special occassions. (Nice legs, eh?)
