CEG member Kang Sun from the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering led a discussion on the environmental issues related to human energy generation and consumption.

The discussion covers several topics especially related to atmospheric environment from regional to global scales. For example Kang showed pictures indicating PM2.5 emissions and transport, and long lifetime greenhouse gas concentrations in the atmosphere.

CEG members specialized in combustion sciences provided their insights on the production of Soot and NOx, which are pollutants generated during combustion.
